영국의 한 학교의 남학생들이 치마를 입고 학교를 다니고 있어 누리꾼들의 궁금증을 자아내고 있다.
지난 22일(현지 시간) 영국 일간 메트로는 영국 잉글랜드 브라이턴 시에 위치한 롱힐 고등학교의 남학생들이 치마를 입고 등교하는 사진을 공개했다.
기온이 33도 가까이 치솟았던 지난 화요일, 롱힐 고등학교 남학생 9명은 더위를 견디지 못하고 반바지를 입고 등교했다.
하지만 롱힐 고등학교 교칙이 바뀌는 바람에 규정상 반바지를 입을 수 없다며 학생들을 집으로 돌아가 옷을 갈아입고 오라는 지시를 받았고 학생들은 항의의 의미로 일주일이나 치마를 입고 등교했다.

The Year 9 children put on their PE shorts on Tuesday, as they had done last summer, when temperatures hit 33C in a bid to cool down in the sweltering heat. But in a change of policy, Longhill High School in Brighton, East Sussex, ordered the youngsters to go home and put on trousers and sent them in isolation. Michael Parker, Kodi Ailing, George Boyland and Jesse Stringer, all 14, then decided to protest and wear skirts to school after finding a loophole in the code of conduct.
학생들은 “남자 선생님들은 모두 반바지와 티셔츠를 입는다”며 “수업 중에 학생들은 물도 마시지 못하고 교실에는 에어컨도 가동되지 않는 상태에서 학생들에게만 무리하게 긴 바지를 요구하는 것은 다분히 위선적인 처사“라고 말했다.
롱힐 고등학교 교장인 케이트 윌리암스는 “교복 치마는 규정된 유니폼이므로 남학생들이 입고 다니는 것을 허용한다”고 밝혔다.
